In high season (March to May, October to December), book the day before or earlier for the first morning hours.

Garden and museum opening hours
The garden opens every day from 8 am to 5:30 pm, last entry 5 pm. The Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts opens every day from 8:30 am to 5 pm (last entry 4:30 pm). The Yves Saint Laurent Museum opens from 10 am to 6 pm (last entry 5:30 pm) and is closed on Wednesdays.
What to see
The painter Jacques Majorelle settled in Marrakech in 1917 and began this garden in 1923. In 1931 he built the cubist studio he painted in the intense blue now called Majorelle blue. The garden opened to the public in 1947.
In 1980 Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé bought the property and saved it from a housing project. Today you walk past giant cactus, bamboo, pools, the blue villa and its yellow pots, and the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts in the former studio. The Yves Saint Laurent Museum, opened in 2017, is a short walk away.
Best time to visit
At 8 am, right at opening. Groups arrive around 10 am and the narrow paths fill quickly. Morning light is also the best on the blue villa. In summer avoid midday: the garden is shaded, the entrance queue is not.
Getting there
The garden is north of the medina, in the Gueliz district, on Rue Yves Saint Laurent. If you combine Majorelle with a trip out of the city on the same day, a private driver drops you at the entrance and picks you up at the exit: this is what we arrange at WhereToGoMorocco.
